Hi there,

Having not traded or bought coins for a very long time I got some and had them sent to MultiBit Classic on my Mac.

They were received fine but when I went to send them on they've been stuck.  I've later learned that a generous fee needs to be included to incentivise miners to include in the blockchain.

I've losing the will to live and I'm not much of a tech savvy person.  Done millions of google searches trying to find a solution.

Tried Via BTC TX transaction accelerator but it's always saying submissions over limit and I've been trying for 3 days hourly.

Happy to send some bitcoins if someone can confirm this transaction.  Just want it to send so I can stop worrying about it otherwise I'll just have to accept I've wasted money.

Just installed Electum so I won't make the same mistake again, and will be including max fee every trade in the future.

Transaction ID: 0f4e78b6033c51fccc74b454e161c54fded5ad4273b2244fdb0217efd018c859

I have just submitted your transaction to the ViaBTC TX Accelerator... when they mine their next block your transaction should be confirmed. Hopefully it doesn't take too much longer... they've had a bit of a dry spell today! Sad

Thank you so much!!!!! Can't begin to tell you how appreciative I am of this.  Luck was on your side! My 50+ attempts over three days all failed.

Right I'm confused.  It's now showing as confirmed but the coins have been sent onto another address which I didn't do.  How is this possible?

Is it possible to have someone hijack my coins like that?

Yep... if someone has access to your private key (from malware etc) then they can absolutely send your coins on. Given the fee was so enormous >700 sats/byte!!?! Shocked I would say this is most definitely malware...

There are a few others that seem to be have been hit by something similar... you were using multibit classic right? Did you ever export keys?

Ahhhh.  yeah MultiBit Classic.  Nope, never exported any keys.  Using a Mac, did randomly notice my FaceTime and web cab was turned on last night which I turned off.  Didn't think anything of it.  That an indication I was hacked?

How can I remove malware?

Sorry, can't help with that... no real experience with OSX. Although I see some mention in Google search results for recent malware posing as an OSX update that compromises your entire machine... "OSX Dok".  And there are reports from last year that apparently allowed hijacking of Facetime... but like I said, I'm a Windows user... so can't really help with malware removal on a Mac. Undecided
