Which GPU is best when it comes to price compared to hash/W?

Hey!

A friend of mine and I are looking to invest into mining and I'm wondering if anyone has any hard numbers on the best GPU for both camps (both Nvidia and AMD) when it comes to price of the card and compared to hash/watt?

We're thinking of getting a couple of rigs with 6x Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti but we're not sure if that's the best card to pick. Since our biggest problem is total wattage, it's important that the hash/watt is as high as possible, but we also have to take the initial price into consideration of course.

For example, philipma1957 tried the GTX 1070 Katana and had (unless he's gotten better numbers) 3.83 hash/watt. But his 1080 Ti had 4.0 hash/watt. It had twice the power usage but it's not twice as expensive, which makes it even better than the Katana.

Does anyone else have some hard numbers on their card when it comes to price/hash/watt?

The rx 570 in my opinion. Price is good and with oc and undervolting you'll get a sexy Hashrate with low Power cost...

Sure, the RX 570 is cheap so it seems good to begin with. And we've actually begun by ordering six Sapphire RX 570 Pulse Mini's for the first test-rig. But how much can you undervolt it and what would the hash/watt be? That's the big and really important questions here.

We have the money but we don't have the power, that's why it's really important with hash/watt - and also the price for the GPU. As per my example in my first post - the GTX 1070 Katana use half of the power and has about half of the hash rate of the GTX 1080 Ti. So they're almost the same when it comes to has/watt. However, since two GTX 1070 Katana's are more expensive than a single GTX 1080 Ti, it's not as good anyway.

I already have a Baikal Giant but am not interested in getting more ASIC's.

Is the best way to get one of these direct when they are in stock?

Yes, unless you're willing to pay a CRAZY markup on the L3+, the best way is normally to go though Bitmain direcly - when they're in stock, like the S9/T9/R4 it would appear that BitMain has issues with not having access to enough foundry capasity to be able to get all the chips they want so they spend a lot of time "out of stock".
