So i created a bitcoin account using armory and clicked receive bitcoin which generated a address which i clicked copy and gave it to the person who was sending the btc is this wrong? because i havent received my bitcoin yet :/

Is Bitcoin Core's block chain synced?
If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.
