It would be so easy to set some kind of limit against this...

But it's not the only reason price is dropping atm.
Bank holiday in Japan -> no fresh money arriving
Some bad news e.g. about lawsuit against Gox

Bots manipulate the price upwards too.  It's more profitable to crash from a higher price.  I wouldn't be surprised if repeated pumping and dumping by the bots was responsible for the recent bubble.  BTC was likely pumped/dumped through jan and feb until it finally caught the attention of new speculators who carried it to unsustainable heights.

Stop blaming the bots.  If anything, they are failing to keep the price up. Let it fall.

Look at all the orders below $70.  That's where the demand is.

I don't know why people keep saying this.

I had money that arrived at Gox this morning. I don't think the holiday is preventing money from getting to gox.

Lets not forget the order book can be easily manipulated so it looks like there is more buy or sell demand. But what really matters is the live and historical trading price not volume of orders on the order book. Money talks, and the message today and for the foreseeable future is clear: sell.

Guess, because everyone said this before and it did sound reasonable.
I'm not saying it anymore now ^^

It should contribute to people using Atlantis, but I guess Atlantis doesn't have as much press as silk road.

I've said it elsewhere:  Exchanges need to charge for putting an order on the book.
Otherwise you'll get all of the order book dirty tricks that are present on the Nasdaq etc.
