So I recently sold my Stationary PC to purchase a laptop. This is a high-end laptop and I decided to download core and the entire chain on it as I've used Core for a while and do feel at home with it.^
Now to the issue:
It is crashing..A lot. I can start it up once I've opened up my laptop and it can instantly crash while loading in the chain. Sometimes I have to restart it several times before it fully loads and functions.
It is slow.. I can have the wallet up and move between Send/Transactions and it just lags out. I can right-click on a specific transaction to get TxID or something else and it just lags out, can sometimes take up to 30seconds before the options show. Sometimes when I have it minimized and want to open it, it takes 30-60seconds before it pops up.
So what can the issue be? I never had these problems on my Stationary PC. I've deleted everything and re-installed it twice but the issues persist. I have no other issues with this laptop and can run games/other powerful programs without issues.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Can you post the part of the debug.log file where the program crashes? Ther may be clues into there as to why it is.
Do you have a large number of processes running as background applications from things like games and other applications that can sometimes leave a background app open (which can be detected by running tasklist or taskmgr>processes if it's windows). As these may cause large amounts of lag to things such as ram and other hardware that is required.
How much spare hard drive space do you have free normally and if you look at resource management (such as cpu usage charts) are there any large spikes before the program crashes?
I'll take a look at the debug.log file and post some information here if you'd be so kind to look through it.
The client has crashed both when I have other processes running (background programs like games etc.) and with closing down everything else just leaving the core to do it's work.
I have a 1000GB HDD that I placed the Client and Chain on. Currently have around 800GB free space on that one. I have my OS on a SSD.
I've checked if there are any spikes etc through the task manager when a crash occurs but there's not a lot of difference.
As you probably can tell it sounds confusing.. I see no reason for it to crash.
Will sort with the debug.log tomorrow and post it.
