first up, i am new to cybercurrency especially bitcoin, like REALLY new, i have just started

so yesterday i bought 25€ in bitcoins on Bitcoinpanda and sent them to my bitcoin core address but havent received them yet. later on i noticed that bitcoin core was loading something. for some reason my freshly made wallet is old and its synchronising with the network right now.

When i click on balances (bitcoin core), i get the following message:

Recent Transactions may not yet be visible, and therefore your wallet might be incorrect. This information will be correct once your wallet has finished synchronizing with the bitcoin network, as detailed below.
Attempting to spend bitcoins that are affected by not-yet-displayed transactions will not be accepted by the network.

When I go to my Blockchain page via the transaction link on bitcoin panda, its written that my transaction is unconsumed/unspend.

What should i do?  Huh

The easiest thing is to just wait for it to sync the block chain. There are other options such as exporting the private key to different software, but that is more complicated.

If you don't want to wait you can use these instructions for switching to using an electrum wallet. Electrum syncs almost immediately and lets you spend your coins almost immediately. Bitcoin core can take days to sync.

Click file, then receiving addresses. Find the address you sent coins to in the window that opens, right click it, and select copy address. Close the addresses window.

Click help, then debug window.

In the debug window that opens click console.

In the text box at the bottom of the window type

dumpprivkey yourAddress

where yourAddress is the address you sent coins to and copied earlier.

Press your enter key.

The private key for that address should appear in the console window. Copy it.

This is an example private key.

L48toSntMVhC2az4KAQCWscrQGfPbT55yCgzM5cmx9Ao69pTdwrq

Download and install electrum.

https://electrum.org/#download

Import your private key into it using these instructions.

http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#can-i-import-private-keys-from-other-bitcoin-clients

Afterwards your coins should be spendable.

It is connecting to peers. Your client is currently synchronizing to the latest blocks. Once the bottom right corner has a tick and you will see your transaction.

Just wait.

is there a way to speed up the process? like for example not using the computer except for this particular task, etc?

Syncing the blockchain is the process of downloading all of the blockchain data. The current size of the block chain is around 120 gigs... So, it takes a while... It is also somewhat dependent on your computer hardware as it has to check and process all the blocks as it downloads them, so even with a super fast broadband connection it can still take some time if your computer hardware is lower spec.

Also, please realise that "blockchain.info" IS NOT "the blockchain". They just chose a really misleading name for themselves... Tongue

If you were to increase the dbcache, the client can use a lot more ram and the process will be sped up drastically.

Go to File>Option and go to the dbcache field and key in (its in MB) however much ram you want to use. Take note that for whatever you keyed in, the number should not exceed the amount of ram that is free in MB. Next, just restart the client.
