Its just pure speculation, and they are young so ppl are adopting them for a quick buck.

I just wanted to point out something that I haven't really seen talked about but due to the insane profitability of CNC today which is 1000% over what you would get mining bitcoin, the difficulty is set to go up a huge amount at the next retargeting. According to http://cnc.strament.com/index.php, it will go from 8 to 82 which at the current exchange rate would drop the profitability to 31% meaning all the miners will abandon ship. Then it will take a very long time to get to the next retargeting effectively killing the coin unless the exchange rate jumps up enough to keep people mining

The success of cnc depends of the support it got. So far its reputation continues to grow. Just like feathercoin it continues to live it's hype.

It is yet another speculative currency.  In the short term it probably will rise but it adds no new technical aspects that cannot already be found in LTC.
