So I dusted of an old 7970 a few weeks ago to mine some ZEC at Nicehash. Been steady at 275 kh/s for about 6 weeks with 0 rejects. I come home from work a few nights ago to see the miner is down. Initially I figure no biggie, boot her up and start mining. It didn't boot right away and it wouldn't boot up until I switch to the second bios on the gpu (dual bios mode card).
With the bios switched the clocks go back to default and I start mining again except that now I am getting a TON of rejects, somewhere around 30% rejects.
Now I can run the miner with either bios again and I can OC the gpu or run it at stock clock settings and I still get 30% or so reject rate.
GPU is on the mobo and not on a riser
Is it time to retire the old gal? I mean it's not like she owe's me anything. She's paid herself off a few times over but I can't justify running it at 30% less hashrate
