Hi all,
Over the past few weeks I started looking into Ethereum development. One thing I found is that setting up a private testnet is not entirely trivial. So I was wondering if there is a market for running a private testnet in the cloud as a service.
Off the top of my head it would offer the following:
- It runs 1 or 2 geths to sync your blockchain - It runs a miner to get the blocks generated - You can log into a web portal containing: - A faucet where all mining rewards are deposited in, that you can withdraw test coins to any desired address easily via the web interface - A block explorer for your private chain like etherchain.org Looking for validation if this is something that the (developer) community would have interest in. If so: What would be a price point that makes this offer interesting? What features are must-have?
If you think it's a crap idea, don't be afraid to say that too (and preferably why).
Thanks.
