Checking balances of paper wallets with altcoins

Hey guys/gals newb question here .... I want to move a few of my Altcoins to paper wallets for cold storage

Is there a way to check the balance of altcoins with your public key? I know its simple if you want to check the balance of a bitcoin wallet (blockchain.info, bitref etc)

Two of my coins is Verge (XVG) and Mooncoin for example once I transfer my coins to my paper wallet how do I "check" to make sure they made it to the paper wallet without adding my private key to anything

As bitcoin, every coin has its block explorer, so you could use this to check  

Try these :
Mooncoin : https://chainz.cryptoid.info/moon/
Verge : https://prohashing.com/explorer/Verge/

I don't know if they work fine, it seems but I don't have these coins, I just searched on google  

With a block explorer, to resume, you can check address balances, transactions and blocks.
