I received an SMS notification from my blockchain.info wallet that I've received 0.533 BTC into my blockchain.info wallet

When I logged into my account, I saw a record of the transaction BUT the money was not in my balance.

Where is the money?

Where is the money?

It looks like the outputs of this transaction were already spent...

Since you said you should have received 0.533 BTC, i'm going to assume your wallet controlls address 1746vmy5pnDpr8gPqAXkW5qmxaUePdF1vS.
When digging further: https://blockchain.info/address/1746vmy5pnDpr8gPqAXkW5qmxaUePdF1vS , it looks like the number of unspent outputs is 0 (the balance is 0).

I do not know how many unspent outputs your wallet still has, the only thing i know is that it controlls the private keys for at least following three addresses:

https://blockchain.info/address/1J9piUpXnW6YqqewfpskmS75yGYZScEdFd
https://blockchain.info/address/1746vmy5pnDpr8gPqAXkW5qmxaUePdF1vS
https://blockchain.info/address/1KdZaXYJTA3wVeCeRAY16o3LdFuFc5LDco

As you can see, all unspent outputs were used, the balance for each of those addresses is 0. If those were the only 3 outputs controlled by your wallet, your end balance would be 0.

What could have happened: you emptied your wallet yourself, somebody robbed you or you're looking at the wrong addresses...

The money was sent to 1PXbeMtWZcXEsG1ywaUEJN3yde6rbYrDbx

I've received a few payments to this address in the past.

When I enter the address in blockexplorer, I see the number of confirmations steadily going up and up with no end in sight

Wait... This is getting a bit confusing here... The things i can see from your story:

  • you got an SMS that you got an input of 0.533 BTC from transaction 1b336740c60f8c3461675e9f784643ca2f9dc38479e38bcef89739d5101be620
  • when looking at this transaction, three inputs were used, an input signed by the pk of 1PmYWGY5c4asBwtAw1F2Rpf13niHHKhFZ3, one of 1CwBVAQTSWoHE4RhkTe1veSxWP4Y2F2Fpa and one of 1Poi6CrYBHvqLZkV8YtTwwwb8rM6XSWQDU. The transaction had two outputs, one that could be spent by 1c9QPNHtnqz1DUuju6oUv87fV3pxkADGq and one that could be spent by 1746vmy5pnDpr8gPqAXkW5qmxaUePdF1vS (you)
  • When looking at your address (1746vmy5pnDpr8gPqAXkW5qmxaUePdF1vS), i could see an outgoing transaction (9487528f77b0a4f211500a4bc9602b4823551b8b943aabe1ca62d504c23c665a) , combining 3 inputs to create 2 outputs: and input from 1746vmy5pnDpr8gPqAXkW5qmxaUePdF1vS, one from 1J9piUpXnW6YqqewfpskmS75yGYZScEdFd and one from 1KdZaXYJTA3wVeCeRAY16o3LdFuFc5LDco. The outputs of the transaction can be spent by 1it7KmxfNb4wpfGVDCVHAcNJbyS7iRfu1 and the other output by 3Gq2JQ6bvsbGt74PTU2tb2XCp6i5752swP
  • unless you were using coinjoin or something, the addresses whose unspent outputs were used as an input for one transaction must all be managed by the same person
  • Now, you either created transaction 9487528f77b0a4f211500a4bc9602b4823551b8b943aabe1ca62d504c23c665a yourself, you're mistakingly looking at addresses that don't belong to you, or you were robbed
  • I can't find any reference to 1PXbeMtWZcXEsG1ywaUEJN3yde6rbYrDbx in this chain of events tbh...

I don't understand what happened and have never experienced something like this before.

When I log into my blockchain.info wallet and click on transactions, and go to the transaction:

Received: June 14 @ 10:32 AM
To My Bitcoin Wallet From: 1PmYWGY5c4asBwtAw1F2Rpf13niHHKhFZ3

I click on the link verify on BlockChain.info, and that's the link below:

https://blockchain.info/tx/1b336740c60f8c3461675e9f784643ca2f9dc38479e38bcef89739d5101be620

Perhaps there's a system error at blockchain.info. I've emailed them and hope they can find it.

I will not be using blockchain.info again that's for sure.

I just wanted to update this thread as promised.

I finally received the payment almost 24 hours after receiving SMS and email notifications of its arrival. Thank God !! BlockChain.info support told me that the transaction has already been confirmed and should be in my web wallet.... Then almost 24 hours later, I received it. They didn't explain the delay time between receiving notification and receiving the money, but I'm glad that I've received the money now.
