Hi, guys I am a noob trying to decide if I should go with these cards to build my rig. Price is a little higher than I wanted to pay. but all the good graphics cards seem to be going up on price or just sold out. Any advise would be highly appreciated. Thanks
I just built a Nvidia GTX 1070 rig last month, yes they are expensive and the ROI will be a lot slower due to higher price instead of 90 days you are looking at 6 months but if you don't need immediate return on your investment and are patience yes GTX 1070 are a fine card, they also draw less power and give better performance. I run them on 60% power and than do 28-29 MH/s for ethereum at 96-100 Watts. which is fantastic a similar AMD RX 470-480 would have drawn 130 to 150 watts.
My advise if you are not sure Start with 1 or 2 card and expand as they became available or you find deals, but the way things are selling out my guess we won't be seeing any deals on graphics cards anytime soon.
