Hi I'm new to TeslaCoin, so xcuse the noobie questions  Grin

I've been synching my wallet for four days and its continually fluctuating between the confirmed amount and and amount in stake. I haven't had any coins for a few years and recently decided to update my wallet, but I only have 65,000 coins and its sometimes says 92.000.000 stake.

What does stake mean? and is this normal.. and how long should it take to complete the blockchain download ..  Smiley

Thanks in advance

Did you try the bootstrap it's listed on page one of the annoucement?

Who ever made the wallet is a ver bad copy/paster because it took me 2 monts to get the thing to work, so I can understand your frustration. I told them to make it simple or it will alway be a under 1 Euro coin because all they will get is geeks who are less then 1% if they want 99% like me they need to make Tesla easy!

Imagine if Tesla told the users of AC power go strap induction wires around the rotor etc..

Thanks 2BFree

I think I've done it all correctly, but totally agree the more complex the solution the less likely people are to try it.. my concern is the wallet amount keeps fluctuating  Huh

SO guessing I will just have to persevere unless there's anything i can do to speed it up.. I have some of the old software still installed but it keeps saying my wallet is locked

How big is the database folder, that would give me some indication of how far into I am? Mine is currently 720MB.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks Smiley

Mine is 1.17 GB and it does work. When I followed @Tara's satking instruction I got 10,000 free TES coins so I sent some to the exchange and sold some so my wallet works but I can tell you it took me forever to figure all this out.

You can try starting the wallet with no staking -reservebalance=9999999 so you don't fork onto your own chain when syncing.

Once synced you can type in the debug console repair repairwallet to see if there is any mismatched coins then restart without the reserved balance.

You can also try starting the wallet with -rescan

What do you mean start your own fork?

When syncing wallets that haven't staked in a while they may stake their own balance while syncing and create their own chain (Fork)

Ok so officially confused now.. launched teslacoin-qt v5.3.2 when typing reservebalance=9999999 into debug window it gives the error

14:10:21

Method not found (code -32601)

I can't seem to find much out there about this.. could do with some tips or a guide, if there's one out there.

Thanks

You use those commands when starting the wallet, you do know how to make a .bat or use CMD prompt right ? Just drag the wallet .exe over to an open CMD window, create a gap (Press spacebar) then type the following -reservebalance=9999999 then press enter, same as using -rescan.

repairwallet is used in the debug console of the wallet.
