can read the PRE-ANN linked above. Otherwise, let’s crack on.

SocialCoin – Payment for your online reviews, views, content, likes and opinion. Not related in any way, save the name (and note the ticker is different) to the previous SocialCoin back in 2014. That was aimed at charitable organisations, and hence a totally different area of the market. I’ve made contact with the devs, never heard back. So we push on with SocialCoin in the here and now.

I’ve also had contact with the owner of the pre-existing and related coin, YTC (YuTü.Co.in) and we have agreed on no conflict of interest. Note that other coins announced since our PRE-ANN, namely YouTubeCoin and LikeCoin represent copycats in our view and hence are being ignored from our perspective. I am prepared for the community to react however it sees fit to that information, but I maintain that I occupied the overall space first and hence lay claim to it.

Sustainability

This remains an area we are focussing on heavily, to ensure that the coin’s circulation continues after the initial interest. The network needs to ensure its own self-sufficiency. At this time, spreading the word is the best (perhaps, only) way of achieving this so I hope the community joins in this aim. But the dev team will do their bit also and will later confirm on approaches for this. The premine is partly intended to support this.

Roadmap

At this time we are still making contact with media contacts at platforms such as Amazon, but at the same time we are utilizing the open forums and entry points that those platforms make available in order to spread the word. This we will continue to do. So at this point, we are relying on crowd interest and the community pushing the idea, networking remaining the best route for building interest. Slack groups will be released in due course, plus a YouTube launch film (featuring yours truly…).

It’s important to realise that the fundamental roadmap for this coin is it’s permeation through the platforms it aims to serve. When somebody posts a review on Amazon, TripAdvisor, Trivago et al, we want to get to a point where they link their SOCC wallet address. Whatever we do from a roadmap standpoint after launch, will be with the aim of achieving this level of coverage.

This will be used to fund the push of the currency. Not necessarily used to ‘fund development’ like most coins claim, but the assumption is that people will need to receive funds in order to then give coins and get the thing started. This is what the premine will enable.

Disclosure – Some of the premine will be kept for ourselves. Reward for the efforts. This is emphatically not a pump-and-dump however and the amount retained will be small.

Disclosure: The wallets will return two VirusTotal failures – ESET-NOD32 and Sophos. I believe in clean wallets and am on record on this forum as stating this. These two hits are normal bitcoin and mining-related false positives, as alluded to in the PRE-ANN, and hence we are shipping the wallets with these ‘reported’. I don’t want to spend any more time on the prep of this coin – I want to get it out there.

If anybody reports any additional VT results, you’ve downloaded the wallet from an insecure source and/or somebody has recompiled erroneously.

Release details

No ninja. Release will be 23.00 CET (22.00 UK time, 17:00 EDT, 14:00 PDT), Saturday 24th June 2017. Wallets and source code location, plus port details will be updated in this thread minutes before the launch.

This release is earlier than planned (was to have been Q3) to give maximum amount of time for pushing the coin into the various communities.

Bounties and airdrop

Block explorer: 5k SOCC if ready 12 hours after launch, 3k SOCC thereafter
Pools: 1kSOCC apiece, max of 3 (as in, max 3 bounties, not max 3 pools)

Note, that’s three in addition to the already agreed pool of findblocks.com – four in total.
In order to receive your bounty, you need to PM your wallet address, plus the URL of your pool.

All the above need to PM their wallet address in order to receive the bounty, plus of course the link to the translated thread. Further translations from this point (in addition to the above) will attract a 200SOCC bounty.

Note – Translations which are later proven to be performed through an online translator will be reported to a moderator. You will receive your coins the moment you link to the translated threads. But strong suspicions over automated translations will be reported.

Exchanges: I am in no hurry to get SOCC listed. That said, economics being what it is, the public are more likely to embrace the idea if it’s worth something (to them). So once we are into the first couple of weeks of mining I will be issuing vote requests for the exchanges. Those who are obviously supportive of this and push will receive one-time 1kSOCC payments until the coin is listed on that exchange.

The amount of the bounty here has increased, because on advice it’s clear that we will need to do this.

Airdrop:

Twitter retweets: 200SOCC – you MUST post a link to your retweet here and use the #socialcoinsocc hashtag please, plus PM your address, or no deal. No reward for likes, hence the retweet reward is higher than posted in the PRE-ANN.
Bitcointalk Community: The first 25 individul responses to this ANN will receive 100SOCCs each. Lower count and higher reward than posted in the PRE-ANN, due to the need to manage the traffic which results at launch. And again, your MUST PM your address please to receive the bounty.
Facebook: Likes, wall posts etc, 50SOCC. Post URL here, PM the wallet address.
Slack: This will follow in due course.
