Can I effectively put a 7970 and a 6450 in the same box for mining?  Any special considerations (assuming power, etc. are sufficient)?

I can't find good ballance. For me is seems that the system is unstable when mixing multiple cards.

You can put them in a rig together. As long as you don't crossfire them. Also you would need to tune each card separately, if you are gonna overclock them.

better to use two cards are different ....
