here in my country, it is already possible to concert your Bitcoin into local currency and have it withdrawn into a local bank's ATM machine even without the ATM card...you will be given a code which is the one used in withdrawal. It is a good concept and it might be something that can also get popular here soon -- a good option but only an option since many would still prefer to see a physical card right on their wallets.

Now, I am thinking...would it be possible that there would be a Bitcoin-based debit card to be offering the same system where we only need some codes and we can withdraw cash anywhere in the globe?

I mean, it is actually a nice idea and can be so convenient. What do you think?

I could not understand the whole concept of the code you are given in your country but if you are looking to get a physical debitcard reloadable with Bitcoin, the you can go to bonpay.com and order one to your home.

It sounds like you are talking about a physical bitcoin debit card which allows you to withdraw money from an ATM if this is the case you can have search the forum and you will find various companies offering this service, most of which will charge you for a physical card.  Cryptopay are currently giving away physical cards for free.

What did confuse me is the talk about a code you can use at an ATM without a card, I don't think that is a feature in most countries but I probably misunderstood that part.

This system that you described reminded me of a paper wallet except you can use in ATM. But I'm also not sure what are you talking about but it might be interesting.

A bit like cardless cash?

Well, yeah it could work but it'll involve some central entity that will be managing everything. Thus, it defeats the whole purpose of bitcoin in the first place. Expand on your idea please, because currently its not very clear.

Plus, when something like this is put out to the market, it would be regulated heavily by the government because of AML and KYC restrictions involved. If the bank accounts of the organisation that issues the code are frozen, then it's going to be a hard time for everyone getting the cash.

Since OP and I lives in the same country and I can say that's the method I used also when I'm going to convert my bitcoin to fiat. It seems like, a bitcoin debit card but there's no actual card when you withdraw using an ATM machine, they will send an SMS composed of a 16 digit code like a debit card have and a 4 digit passcode like a pin code. And you'll just input it into an ATM machine and withdraw.

Wow that would be an easy life. I think I have read about few announcements saying about bitcoin debit card such as TenX debit card. They have assured the instant payment system which will make blockchain spendable instantly. However it is ICO based tech and hope that it will come true soon. I think you speaking about the same technology. It would be great to have such debit card and we can spend our online earnings directly. Just imagine no worries regarding the banking credits, keeping your banks filled. Lols.

Coins.ph doesn't aware of many people in the forum. You can find most trusted debit card services like xapo and advcash providing card and cardless transaction can be available at these places.
Even spectrocoin also provide the same service as you mentioned.
