Power Redundancy For Mining

Hey All,

I have been thinking about assembling some sort of Uninterrupted Power Supply for my (small) mining setup.

Anyone have experience with UPS's?

I think it will have to sustain a router, modem, laptop, and miner for some amount of time.  It seems like a worthwhile idea.

I suspect the cost of maintaining (read: replacing) the batteries will by far outweigh any gains you make by continuing to mine while the power's off.

UPS (lead acid) batteries are rated for a given number of cycles, so the more you use it the faster you'll have to replace it. I'd also replace them every 6-7 years at a maximum as well.

I guess that would depend on how much power your miner draws. Most of the other stuff you listed should be fine on an UPS.

You're probably looking at a few hundred to power ~750 watts for ~10 minutes.
