Does anyone know if there is any crossovers in biological and cryptocurrency research?


I was thumbing through Science (DOI: 10.1126/science.aan0826) during a coffee break and was struck by similarities between cryptocurrencies and pollinator-plant evolution.


Plants attract pollinators or animals for seed dispersal using some kind of reward (usually calories). This reminds me of cryptocurrencies as they too must attract users with rewards.


I wonder is studying some pollinator-plant or similar biological systems could yield useful insights for designing, picking winning cryptocurrencies, forecasting ecosystem collapse, etc. Also, this could get especially interesting with IoT currencies like IOTA.


Anyway, if anybody has any ideas let me know. Thanks.
