Suggestions on my portfolio

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie and this is my first on bitcointalk. I started trading a month ago and already doubled up on my investments. Not a big investent as I'm still a student figuring out the ways of how this market works. I currently hold 4 coins and was seeking suggestion if I should hold them or just sell them at a loss.

Viacoin - 50% of my portfolio. Bought it a month back, was hoping for a quick rise with the news of segwit but its dipping everyday. I'm starting to lose confidence on this coin.

Shift- 30% of my portfolio. Expecting a rise since the release of Phantom sounds like a good news. Thinkinh about holding it for another month.

Feathercoin - 20% of my portfolio. Was expecting drastic rise due to the news of block halving but it has seen a rather slow decline from a good run couple of days back. Will hold it for another week or so.

Iexec RLC - 10% of my portfolio. Bought it at a high of 75 cents and have been holding ever since. Its been over a month since the decline and I'm currently at a loss. Wondering if it would be a good idea to sell and convert to a different coin. 

Any kind of suggestions will be helpful. Looking forward to becoming a regular in this forum. Cheers!

i would not sell at a loss, especially not Shift, and from what I understand Via and RLC are good/has lots of potential to grow as well.

Idk about Feathercoin, never bothered to check anything about it.

 In 2017

    New Monetary Policy (ECIP-1017)
    Emerald Wallet
    Dapp SDK (based on Emerald Project)
    Standalone & embeddable EVM (with debugger for EVM code)

In 2018

    Light client for IoT and Mobile
    Scalability improvement and sharding (towards to 1,000+ tx/sec)
    Improve cryptography on EVM (for zero knowledge proof, homomorphic encryption, etc)

I also believe ETC is currently undervalued. It has great potential to do 2-5x from here within the next 6 months. But I feel the price will go lower than this as I believe ETH dump is still not over and this will impact the price of ETC.

You have not understood the fundamental : buy the rumours, sell the news. You did the whole inverse it seems. What I would do would wait for a very big ICO, the one you are sure of its success like ZrCoin or EOS. Just buy and wait then.

If you do not like ICOs, buy Ethereum in a dip, and sell at 0,5% profit, repeat, again and again. Start keeping the profits in ETH, as this is for me a crypto-currency which has a great future !

If you do not like ICOs, buy Ethereum in a dip, and sell at 0,5% profit, repeat, again and again. Start keeping the profits in ETH, as this is for me a crypto-currency which has a great future !

Is it not what I'm doing? I'm buying coins which have important news coming up and when the news or the update comes out, I sell them. Can you suggest me where I'm wrong? Thanks

My suggestion that to sold your RLC will be a good decision rather than try to hold the token to be your portfolio. I know we already have the golem that much better than Iexec project itself.  You can try to exchange it with the santiment token that gives you the more opportunity to get a lot of the decent profit in the future. because the santiment still new and with a lot of the competitive person in there.
Just sell and buy others look promising for you.

I'm still new and I have been hearing all sort of things about 1st august amd how btcmight crash and all. I'm skeptical at this point so not holding btc. I'm looking forward to a dip and examine this month before holding btc. Do you think this strategy is wrong amd that i should hold btc right now?

Thanks for the suggestion. I just bought some bitcoin amd some Via as well for $1.06. I really believe it will go up drastically after segwit. Might be wrong

Ethereum, I guess is already in dip. So it's the best time to buy nowand wait until eth's time to go bullish again.

Yes, keep hold and wait. If August comes and there's lows the bitcoin will experience, don't worry, it might be the new lows but I believe it will bounce back to the new ATM again.

Well you won't find security in alts if BTC goes down this is for sure, so from start this is a bad strategy. Did you define how long you are going to hold those coins? When you are going to take a profit? I sold NAV for example when it was 3k, which i bought for 700 sat..but now is 14k, now i'm buying it again..
Else this year was very good for all alts due to BTC jump, but don't expect this situation to last forever.

I added BTC to my portfolio for more stability. I plan to hold these for at least the next couple of months butif I see profit before that, I will try to sell it. The market is still dipping and losses are increasing. Do you think we will see a run to 120-130Billion market cap this year again?

Buying Ethereum during its dip is far better than putting money into an ICO that is not going to get launched till a few months later because the dev and his team could disappear with that money (or the Escrow could disappear with the money as well). Just because a ICO has a bunch of people wanting to see how it does it doesn’t mean that it’s going to be that successful, I would just purchase coins at a dip instead.

I can suggest you SAFEX-SEC-SafeExchange Coin for short term and also for long term. Total marketcap is less than 7.5 million. The coin is a very active dev. you can join their slack. Now they are trying to create a new wallet which can rise the price for short term. For long term, they are many expectations one of them is a decentralized bazaar.
