Hi I installed Electrum and created default wallet, then charged it with some BTC.  But see that my wallet has seed option disabled (and no seed icon on bottom right) so am worried about how I might recover the wallet if I ever needed to. Some posts suggested that i should create new wallet and transfer my funds to that.

I have now created a new wallet but am not sure how to transfer the funds across - do I need to find the private keys in original wallet and then go to new wallet and sweep them in. DO i only need to do this for the private key of received transaction?

Or is it something completely different?

Any help much appreciated.

I am also awaiting delivery of TRezor device and would therefore need to move my wallet to that at some point - any pointers as to what would need to happen there please?

Thanks

I would definitely recommend you to do that. There are many advantages of using HD seeds, better privacy, easier recovery of wallet etc.

Don't handle your private key unless you absolutely have to. Get any address in your new wallet and go to the old wallet and send all the old funds over. Your client will automatically use all the inputs and coins you have in your old wallet to send to the new wallet.

Same process. Setup wallet, store the seed in a safe place and send the coins over to an address in Trezor.
