You can try Asus Ultrabooks. They have good hardware inside but their design is not good.

Since architects use graphics-intensive applications (renderings, I guess?), they need laptops which are primarily built for gaming; like GeForce series graphic card, not Quadro series. Quadro is for workstation.

I would suggest going for something which has Intel i7 processor with either GeForce or AMD Radeon graphics card (minimum 8GB of RAM and 2GB of graphics card).

You need to tell your budget because if you need high end specs it can cost you 1500-2500$ or more.

Architects need a laptop with a large display and with a dedicated graphic, so I would suggest an alienware 17" but the rest of specifications depend from your budget!

Search for some gaming notebook - alienware, asus rog, etc. They have superior graphics\cpus, usually lots of ram. Note that you usually can add more ram, change cpu sometimes, and mostly never - upgrade your graphics card. So you should aim for better "fixed" specs, and upgrade what's upgradeable later. Workstation-positioned laptops are usually more expensive.

If you are planning to work in some archicad\autocad, etc, geforce gtx1060 would be enough, or even gtx 960. If you work with software that uses gpus not only for viewport but for some calculations or rendering, aim for high end videocards, or consider using an external one with a rizer (for example, you work with built-in video on your office, and plug your videocard at home to render gpu stuff or play games.))

He doesn't really need a gaming notebook. He needs a macbook pro with wide screen.
