As of today, when I log in to StrongCoin, I cannot view the balance on my wallet. Nor can I send BTC. This is disturbing, as I have recently sent some BTC to that eWallet for safekeeping.

Anyone else having problems with the site? I have not received any support emails back from them yet, as of this post.

While I know nothing about the status of StrongCoin, sending BTC somewhere "online" for safe keeping is an oxymoron.   If you want your BTC safe, use an offline wallet such as Armory, and store a backup in a safety deposit box.   Best solution is a paper only wallet in a safety deposit box.

If I can download a "paper backup" of my StrongCoin account (that function is working, and Blockexplorer shows that the balance has been transferred),

then can I somehow retrieve the BTC with my decrypted private key, public address, and Electrum?

I have heard of this being done.
