why altcoin is a bad investing?

I think altcoins are a good way to trade and get some profit. Just that

having altcoin as investing is not a bad idea because every altcoin we have, there is a chance to increase high so if we are invest our bitcoin in altcoin, then in future we can make big profit. like what we see in ethereum, litecoin, dash, btcd, and else. those coin is not to expensive in last year or at least in 6 months ago but now, the price is increase so if we have that coin, we can sell it to make profit.
