Really crazy to see how much Worldcoin is eating into the Litecoin Hashrate...Down to 16.3 GHs

Which is going to kill the coin unless value keeps going up to maintain its position as profit leader. What will happen is there will be an enormous amount of hash power on it that suddenly leaves when profitability falls below BTC. At that point, WorldCoin loses its instant transactions bullet point for weeks because the difficulty on it doesn't retarget fast enough.

Too bad the devs didn't take this into consideration...

They did, 8 hour difficulty re-target. If hash drops off drastically, say from 2gh/s to 200mh/s it will only take a day or 2 at most to retarget instead of 50 days for chinacoin.

Said it for me.

Plus, even if transactions suddenly become 10 times slower the coin will still be as fast as litecoin.  And all of this is just leaps and bounds faster than bitcoin.

Ding Ding Ding. This coins a winner!

I know all of you are fazed with this alt coin madness ( May Madness Cheesy ), but I really think Worldcoin's a winner. They've taken into consideration all of the flaws that have been pointed out these past few weeks, and incorporated most of them into the design. This could seriously shake the market if it holds

Should be much faster though, that's kind of unacceptable if the coin is going to be used for actual transactions where time is of the essence. It all seems half-baked to me.

Ok we get it, you're butthurt you missed the boat on this one. 3 posts in this topic bashing the coin already  Roll Eyes

Whatever dude. Re-read my posts and I've hardly been bashing it, just pointing out what I believe are flaws. I don't think the devs thought the whole instant transactions thing through and it'll have major trouble later on. You're the one spreading FUD to get people to buy it... calling other coins a scam that you traded is quite hilarious. I'll just leave this at that.

Well, keep in mind this really only happens in the early days of the coin. For example, Litecoin would die if the hash rate fell to 10% of it's current rate, but is anyone concerned about that? Nope.

I have a feeling that if it does happen, people will just end up rejoining with confidence when the coin is back around the top a few days later

How is every 8 hours not fast enough?   FTC and CNC's death blow were that they were calculated by # of blocks instead of length of time, so the more hash power that left the network the longer the next difficulty reset took.   8 hours is plenty of time to recalculate difficulty to react to network hashpower leaving without it killing the coin.

Scam coin is for coins like Feathercoin and Chinacoin which bring don't any advantages to the table, imo. Of course those coins are like scams why would someone use them over Litecoin?

WDC offers near instantaneous confirmations, something which actually gives it an advantage over Litecoins and Bitcoins. Long term who knows what could happen... that is why people are buying it.

this ^^
