i am a newbie and i don't know where to start and what to expect, they are so many posts and i am hoping to get help. i am from Africa and very few people know about bitcoins, so i will be hoping to get a lot of knowledge from everyone here willing to share.

i am hoping to start of with the basics, then learn anything and everything i can grasp on. My first encounter with bit coins was through MMM africa. i have a rough idea since i traded using bitcoins, but now i want to know how i can get some free bit coins and other investment oppportunities i could take advantage of.

thank you all in advance.

Africa seems like a place that would benefit from Bitcoin. Though I will say that I'm ignorant of how life is there. For here in the forum, look around and just start paying attention to what's being said on things. Stay away from ICO's/investments until you're confident on what they are saying and can objectively see it for what it is. As for getting some free coin, well that's a hit or miss. There's always faucets that you can go to, though not much.

There are a lot of way to earn free bitcoins . You can try faucets for free bitcoins but you will earn very small amount of money through it . You can earn a handsome amount of money by doing bounty works and signature campaigns here but to do so at first you have to be at least Jr Member as most of the bounty campaigns does not allow newbies to join . And you should read the forum rules first to start .

What is your native language? It is possible, if there is a thread in your native language, then you can read the information there to get a basic understanding. Then go back to the English one

Welcome to the community Tshido!  There is so much to learn, but everyone has to start somewhere.  You can be in this community for years, personally I am 5 years in and still learning every day.  Dont be discouraged if things look complex or confusing, everything takes time.

In my opinion, and the advice I give all my newbie friends, is to start researching general topics.  Youtube is a great resource, as well as Reddit and Podcasts.  Depending on your learning style, I absorb information better when watching videos or listening to podcasts when speaking about large quantities of information.  Reddit however is a great resource if you know where to look.  Below are a few of my personal favorite Youtube Channels, Podcasts and Multireddits that I use to learn things every day!

Reddit
- Check out my personally curated Multireddit full of all things blockchain and crypto currencies https://www.reddit.com/user/P3rplex/m/digitalcurrency/

Youtube
-This guy produces 2x videos a day and since he is in England, they are up prior to you waking up.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLnQ34ZBSjy2JQjeRudFEDw

-This guy does a great job explaining all things crypto in an easy to digest way.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCggNMXYug_4DYFWniw7EfjA

-Andreas’s Antonopoulos's youtube channel (Well known Bitcoin advocate)
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJWCJCWOxBYSi5DhCieLOLQ

-This young programmer does a pretty good job of diving into some topics and easy to understand.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrYmtJBtLdtm2ov84ulV-yg

-This guy has some pretty good videos.  I don’t watch them often, but I have watched most of his older videos
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaPSoa3hoxgouMd8YdlUwXQ

Podcasts (download the ones you want via apps such as Itunes, Overcast and Podcasts)
-Lets Talk Bitcoin - https://letstalkbitcoin.com/

-Unchained

-NPR's Planet Money - (not Bitcoin focused, but has some episodes exploring the subject)

-Future Technology

-We Study Billionaires - (not Bitcoin focused, but has some episodes exploring the subject)

-Adventures in Finance - (not Bitcoin focused, but has some episodes exploring the subject)

Best way is to find information on your own. After reading lots of articles, getting knowledge from terminology and market you will be able to earn some money!
