The company GMO Internet introduced its own bitcoin miner, fully developed in Japan.
During the press conference, the company reported that the manufacture of 7-nm chips is in Taiwan, despite the fact that the development of B2 was held in Japan.
It is noteworthy that the new device will provide greater computing power with less power consumption. This is a key factor for the mining enterprises that are interested in the return of investment.
The company's management added that B2 could reach 24TH / s. The electricity consumption will be 1 950 W. For comparison, the current market leader Antminer S8 from Bitmain offers 14TH / s with electricity consumption of about 1 300 watts.
B2 will cost miners $ 1,999, while Antminer S9 costs $ 837.
GMO considers the release of its own miner as the first step in the competition with Bitmain, which accounts for about 80% of ASIC-miners.
