As an early investor into BTC with hodl strategy, I have now the same amount of BCH coins as I have BCT.

I actually could't care less about which coin will survive and how the rebalancing of the market capitalization between the two will evolve, as long as their combined market cap are growing over time.

Let me explain at the example of Google, where i am also an early investor. Some time back on April 3, 2014 Google has split their stock into class A (GOOGL) and class C shares GOOG).

Right after the split each holder received also received same amount of class C shares. At the beginning the stock price was for both were roughly the same. Over time the A shares consistently trade at a premium to the C shares. The difference is not large — perhaps 2% at most — but it is there.

While both shares are from the same company, they have different uses: Google plans to continue issuing C shares to finance acquisitions and reward employees.

So I view BTC and BCH essentially being the same, as they are based on similar concept and share a common history until August 1, 2017. The use cases are now however different.

I am amused by the bitter battle of thoughts and views there are from fans of either camp on who is right or wrong. That is childish or football fan culture at best. It does not matter and I absolutely do not care as an investor - I want both coins to succeed.

The market will tell over time which use case deserves a premium over the other.

So I expect that over the mid term (2-5 months) the market cap of both crypto assets will be almost the same as they have almost the same number of coins. If one use case is viewed to be more valuable than the other, then one side will start trading at a premium over the other.

Is everyone here on this board only working with bitcoin, or are there also investors like me, who are also into stocks?

It appears to me that here are no investment minded people and many hopeful gamblers.
Bitcoin market cap is still less that for example AAPL market cap and that should make you think.
Which companies will benefit most from the crypto development - that would be also an interesting investment case.

There are many people wanting to invest in blockchain technologies, unfortunately many have not been able to due to the complexity of entering crypto-markets.

A large amount of people here are only involved in BTC for two reasons.

Either they're disillusioned with the banking system in general and debt-based fiat currencies, or they're moderately dumb in that they just look at high returns and assume that they will continue exponentially until they're rich.

The latter is a self-fulfilling prophecy which gets weeded out in each bear market and then builds up in each bull market.  The former is a somewhat reasonable thought, but is often uttered by people who are otherwise irrational about similar topics or believe too strongly in modern conspiracy theories.

Personally I view the situation in a similar way to you, but I think that other people can get petty about it.

It's not only the 'use case' and market share that we are talking about when it comes to BCH and BTC, but also what would be better in terms of all aspects: feasibility, speed, reliability, you name it. Bitcoin is still on its developing stages and it's important to take even the tiniest progress into extensive and utmost care. BTC/BCH is not a stock being trade like GOOGL/GOOG. It's a new tech that 'could' possibly eliminate our dependency to cash and the banks which have been raping us in the arse for over two centuries now.

I myself have invested into local stocks here in our country and apparently, I can only see them as a form of investment and nothing more unlike bitcoin who can act flexibly by being a currency when you need it and an investment when you aren't using it.

Also, BCH/BTC split seemed to be influenced by politics and power more than usage and feasibility, really.
