Hello Everyone,

This is my first post here so apologies if I'm being too vague or unclear.

I use cgminer (v3.1.1 Win x64) setup against Slush'e pool (stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333) and I've been noticing a strange issue which I cannot explain and hopefully someone here can help me understand what's happening. I've noticed that Slush's pool is reporting a lot more blocks being found in cgminer then what's actually posted on Slush's stats (https://mining.bitcoin.cz/stats/).

*All times below are in UTC

For example here is a snippet of cgminer log which shows that pool apparently found 4 blocks:
[2013-05-15 22:53:34] Accepted 66a4d58f Diff 2/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 22:55:14] Accepted cf9e6c0e Diff 1/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 22:55:19] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-05-15 22:55:45] Accepted bff63cbd Diff 1/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 22:57:50] Accepted eb0bd245 Diff 1/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 22:58:25] Accepted c7f48f5d Diff 1/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 22:58:33] Accepted b7e9397a Diff 1/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 22:58:43] Accepted b6c9acf5 Diff 1/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 22:58:44] Accepted a4403030 Diff 1/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 22:58:47] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-05-15 23:00:34] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-05-15 23:00:40] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-05-15 23:01:01] Accepted b5c01b7b Diff 1/1 GPU 0

but when I look at Slush's pool stats I only see 3 during that time:
18046   2013-05-15 22:58:40   4:06:17
18047   2013-05-15 23:00:07   0:01:27
18048   2013-05-15 23:00:36   0:00:22

So what happened with that block at 22:55 Huh

Here is another example from cgminer log:
[2013-05-15 23:25:01] Accepted 4b537235 Diff 3/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 23:25:41] Accepted 5f4c3a08 Diff 2/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 23:26:08] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-05-15 23:26:08] Stratum from pool 0 requested work restart
[2013-05-15 23:26:12] Stratum from pool 0 requested work restart
[2013-05-15 23:26:20] Accepted 4fef57de Diff 3/1 GPU 0
[2013-05-15 23:27:07] Accepted cc6d8d34 Diff 1/1 GPU 0

and the above "new block" reported by stratupm does not show up in the Slush's stats at all.

Does anyone know why some of the new blocks reported from the pool by stratum do not make it to the pool stats Huh

I don't think that the pool found a new block, but rather that the new block showed up on the chain so the hashing has to start on new data for the next block.
