Powered PCI-e riser cable from 120 wire extender?

Hi Guys,
Is it possible to make the molex powered riser using the 120 wire (single ribbon) type PCI-e cable. So far I can only find tutorials showing the 240 wire (double ribbon) type cables where 5 wires are soldered (side A & B). It would seem that I only have 2 & 3 wires available on this design and that may not be enough for say 2 Amps??
