How reliable is depositing/withdrawing to/from BitStamp is it for US citizens, and are there any large transfer fees to be aware of? I assume the only option I have with them is International Wire? How long do these take? I know it's "a couple of days", but with Gox that becomes "a couple of months minimum".

I find it quite reliable. They do charge a fee for deposits, it's posted on their web site.

As far as I know, the only option for US folks is international wire. In my experience, from wire initiation to account credited usually takes about 36 hours.

It seems the large amounts transactions are delayed.

So be careful, you can get your money/coins blocked.

I had been using it for a while, but they've become unreliable and are rejecting my withdrawal requests because the destination is a business bank account owned by a corporation (of which I am the treasurer) rather than an individual.

Also, they handed over their SSL keys to cloudflare, which means all their traffic passes unencrypted through the NSA even if neither endpoint is in the USA.  Gox did this too.

EDIT: apparently Gox recently switched to Akamai, which AFAICT doesn't do the scary-stupid, SSL-neutering, certificate-authority-colluding insanity that cloudflare does.  Seriously, take a look at how they handle SSL -- I've never seen anything scream "NSA SNOOP POINT" louder than what they're doing with Globalsign.

The printing press heralded the end of the Dark Ages and made the Enlightenment possible, but it took another three centuries before any country managed to put freedom of the press beyond the reach of legislators.  So it may take a while before cryptocurrencies are free of the AML-NSA-KYC surveillance plague.

Open a company account then open a TT with support to tell them it's a company account and send the requested/required papers. It's normally quite fast.
