Hi guys thanks for reading. I'm new to mining and currently own a msi gaming laptop and wondered if it's worth mining with or if I should invest in other hardware.
The laptop is a MSI GT72 2QE Dominator Pro, with the following specs:

CPU -  i7 5950HQ
GPU - GeForce GTX 980M
VRAM - GDDR5 16GB

Thanks again guys, look forward to hearing back from you.

Laptops are not ideal mining machines due to their manufacturing constraints, they overheat basically (AND are not meant for long term use, although, if you were to create a cooled system somehow, and would only expect a couple or few cents a day, then yeah, do it and let us know the results!

The easier option is to buy USB asics and have lots of them, I have seen up to 50 (at about 2gh/s each) daisy chained together, wonderful.

I wish the mods would delete these threads that are the same fucking questions over and over again that is answered in a sticky.  Then at least it wouldn't help all the activity farmers.   Sad
