Hi, I'm having an issue with the Electrum client (I would post this in that subforum but I cant post outside this section yet).  I've been able to install it with pip2 and it has worked fine, but then I tried installing the bitcoin/litecion supported version from GitHub.  That failed, so I went back to reinstall the normal version with pip, but now I get the following error upon starting electrum.

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/electrum", line 89, in <module>
    parser = arg_parser()
  File "/usr/bin/electrum", line 67, in arg_parser
    usage = "usage: %prog [options] command\nCommands: "+ (', '.join(known_commands))
NameError: global name 'known_commands' is not defined

I've tried removing everything to do with electrum and then running the pip install command, but I still get this error.  Has this happened to anyone or can someone point me in the right direction to get this fixed? Thanks

Just wondering what does the Electrum client do, I have never heard of it, however it seems interesting. Thanks!

You can check their site (http://electrum.org/) but basically its just an easy-to-use (when it works lol) client.  It is also lightweight because the blockchain is stored on a remote server, so it'll only use around 20-30MB on your hard drive instead of several GB.

Yes, I am aware that the Litecoin version is not supported.  I removed the Litecoin version and looked through my filesystem to remove anything related to Electrum and then tried installing the official version with pip.  I'm getting these errors with the official version.

so your electrum install has been corrupted by the litecoin-electrum install?

I assume so as that is the only explanation that really makes sense.  I can try to completely delete Electrum again and then reinstall it.
