Hi, Im new to bitcoin, and I wanted to purchase Ripple with bitcoin. However, I think i made a mistake.

I wanted to transfer bitcoin from Coinbase to GateHub. I transferred the Bitcoins to an adress i had copied. But now I can't seem to find this adress anywhere in Gatehub. So my question is really. Are the bitcoins lost?

The transaction process can be seen here: https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/address/1JS4kPNt3ZEKDsAobzeLTbwGh5eRA6ptUM/

There are two possibilities...

1.  GateHub temporarily generated that address for you, and now that you sent the payment they no longer display it.  If this happened, then GateHub has your bitcoins and you will need to follow up with them if they haven't credited your accounts appropriately.

2. You have malware on your computer that has gained control of your clipboard.  It recognizes whenever you try to "copy" a bitcoin address and it replaces the copied address on the clipboard with a different address that is under the control of a thief.  The malware hopes that you don't notice that the address changed when you "paste" it, so you will be tricked into sending your bitcoins directly to the thief.  If this happened, then a thief has your bitcoins and you most likely won't be able to get them back.  You should stop using that computer for ANY cryptocurrencies and should find and clean out the malware.

Thanks for quick reply!

I've just tried to copy in an adress in Coinbase again, to see if it pastes another adress. But it doesn't seem like it.

So i hope for the first option. I have written to GateHub.
