The people behind Ransomware might decide that Bitcoin is not anonymous enough and they might request people to pay them in another Alt coin, for example : Monero

Bitcoin is currently used as the default payment option, because it can be easily acquired by the people that has to pay the ransom. These people also request Bitcoin, because it can be used at more merchants to buy goods and to pay for services.

If Bitcoin Goes Mainstream, Will Ransomware Go Mainstream Too??
what do you think??

This is a common misconception, that bitcoin is what is fueling ransomware.

Ransomware is going to exist whether or not bitcoin exists. Bitcoin may be used for ransomware funding but there is definitely no correlation in the amount of ransomware compared to the amount of bitcoin users rising. It just doesn't make sense. Also how can a ransomware ever be "mainstream"? Again, doesn't mak esense.

Bitcoin is going mainstream. Just needs a bit of time to do it. Ransomware imo is going to be less and less prominent, as the security measures improve on all operating systems.

How is he right? He is saying that bitcoins does not provide anonymous transaction but Monero does. It's not just that bitcoins is the default option, it is more valuable than other digital currencies and hackers have many tricks to fool others with their IDs.

As you told that may be the people can pay their bills and other expenses in any other crypto currency, but the default will be bitcoin. So I think that most of the people will use bitcoin because in everything almost all the people use default that may be settings or currency.

And the other is not recommended. So it is true that bitcoin is the mainstream and the people use the main thing in common.
