I am an absolute beginner who has no real knowledge of programming and little technical experience so any response I am afraid needs to be spelt out exactly how any instruction is keyed in.
I have read old threads about this issue but in truth did not really understand them.
My position is I managed to create a wallet successfully then I managed to buy some bitcoins successfully.
When I started the Armory app it just says in bottom right hand corner of screen "off Line" I did take a back up (hard) when I first started the app and created the wallet.
I'm sorry that I do not have the knowledge to sort this out myself have you any tips on how I can simple get the app online and receive the bitcoins I have purchased
Thanks for any help. Huh

Have you downloaded and installed Bitcoin Core? If not, download and install it from https://bitcoin.org/en/download.

If/once Bitcoin Core is installed, run it and let it sync. This can take a long time (from several hours to several days depending on your hardware) and will consume ~160 GB of data on your hard drive.

Once Bitcoin Core is synced, stop it and start Armory. Armory should then sync off of Bitcoin Core which should only take a few hours at most. Then it should be online and ready to use.
