Telegram will officially launch the TON blockchain in the third quarter of 2019
An internal memo has been sent to investors announcing that the network will be deployed by the end of 2019. As reported in April, Telegram opened a connection to a test version of the TON blockchain for a number of developers. Anonymous developers say the blockchain is extremely fast. The TON network will be used as a basis for decentralized applications, similar to the Ethereum network.
Telegram was produced by brothers Nikolai and Pavel Durov in 2013. The company mobilized nearly 1.7 billion dollars in two tokens for sale last year. This platform currently has more than 200 million users.
Last month, the development team TON teamed up with German financial services company Wirecard. TON Labs is currently working with Wirecard to develop other financial products in the future.
