ASIC stands for Application Specific Integrated Circuit. These particular chips we will buy are the backbone of the DIY and start-up miner businesses. The need for these chips at the moment is tremendous, and we would be doing a service to the community to get more out into the public.
Many people haven't gotten involved in mining because
A. They see that the difficulty rising makes it questionable whether or not it will even be worth it.
B. Not interested in technical processes.
C. Can't buy in at a large enough rate to make it worthwhile.
