... in trying to locate who he/she, or they are.

Imagine if all the man hours spent on trying to hunt him down instead was used on creating bitcoin services and develop the bitcoin software.

Why's it interesting who he is ? Because we don't know ? Is it human curiosity ? Why these inane questions, what purpose would it serve to reveal him ?

We should just be grateful for what he/she/they created and go from there - no need to waste time finding out who he is.

I'd say most of the effort people took to find out who he is were in 2011.

That is just people entertaining themselves, not a real effort. There are people who use forums like this just to pass the time.
