Bitcoin gold is in hype so to get bitcoin gold you have to hold bitcoins in your wallet, so this means free coins for just holding bitcoin in your wallet, so people are selling whatever alts they have to get bitcoin.

Yeah people will shift over to bitcoin in time for the snapshot and then get back to whatever alt they were holding, especially after the last one and the fact that people did essentially get free money, I think it will push up to the $5,000 mark and then back down to where we are now.

I’m not so sure that it is going to happen in that way, why would they sell their bitcoin after the bitcoin gold hard fork when there is going to be another fork just a month afterwards, maybe what you say could happen but only some weeks after the segwit2x hard fork that is going to happen in November.

At first there was bitcoin cash, now sr see bitcoin gold, can't understand what these people want. Let this bitcoin to be for itself and let us to use bitcoin like we want, without additional BCC and BCG.
I think price will be 4500-5000$ or lower, not higher.
BCC caused panic in people and it didn't lower bitcoin' price, so I believe bitcoin gold can't do anything to affect it. So no need to worry, there will be stable current price.

I think there are two main reasons for the forks, one is to try to weaken bitcoin, the more bitcoin clones out there the most difficult is to discern the real bitcoin for someone not informed like us and the second is money, miners have found a way to print an unlimited amount of coins and put bitcoin name in them.

If it breaks 6000, I believe it will be around 6500 come fork time.  I except a slight dip 2 days before the fork though.

Interesting. I have been expecting for the price to go down days before the hardfork and for it to go up after but with this bitcoin gold, that may happen. It really is hard to say what the price may be and to speculate - you never know what to expect. I didn't expect the price to be as high as it is today and I believe that it will continue to increase until it breaks to $6000. If that doesn't happen, then there could be some dips during the hard fork. I hope the price won't fall as much during that time.

There are too many things happening at the same time to think things are going to remain the same, it is simply the most unlikely of the scenarios, even an scenario where bitcoin goes down makes more sense than nothing changing, however the most likely scenario is that bitcoin surpasses 6000 dollars after the fork.
