Not really. Alot of factors come into play when looking for the ideal exchange.

There's been multiple posts about it, so just google it.

Some exchange that i personally would recommend for buying bitcoins are both http://coinbase.com && http://bitfinex.com .

For trading altcoins, i would recommend either http://bittrex.com / http://poloniex.com

If you are looking for over-the-counter transactions, your best bet would probably be http://localbitcoins.com

No. Every exchange has its own features, its own pros and its own cons.
Choosing the best one mainly depends on your needs. What are you searching for? What pairs do you wanna trade? Do you day trade or buy and then hold? BTC markets or ETH markets?
Please be more specific about that, so that we can help you better...

Bittrex is the best as of now in terms of security and easy usage. But they have not many coins listed. Poloniex have more coins listed, but I m not sure about their security though. If you want to play with a lot of coins then use novaexchange and cryptopia.
