I am terribly sorry to bother you all, but I haven't been using my bitcoin-QT client for a while and have recently sent BTC that so far haven't arrived. I just discovered that the old versions are not properly supported anymore (https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=199699) and I am worried that if I update now the coins might be lost forever.

I am using v. 0.3.23 beta (Mac OS)

What would you advice moving forward?

Thanks!

Backup you wallet.dat now.

First encrypt it with Bitcoin-QT and a password.
Then upload it to Gmail, dropbox, etc.

If you lost your wallet.dat you loose your coins.

Your wallet.dat is in  ~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/

Hi man

thanks for your help! While searching for manuals on how to backup my wallet I found that you can upload your wallet.dat to blockchain! All coins are visible now. Phew
