Different between Bitcoin-QT and Multibit

Because Multibit stores the blockchain in their proxy servers to sync and Bitcoin - QT stores the blockchain on your hard-drive.

I would really recommend you to NOT use Multibit or other Clients then Bitcoin-QT, especially if you are a newbie.
I had experienced some problems with Multibit and Armory, I had to reinstall them and at least reboot the computer once for getting my old wallets being recognized again after I tried to used a second wallet. They simple have to much bugs.

Bitcoin-QT seems like being the most stable Client, though it might take some time to download the whole Blockchain.

I like that it's easy to have separate wallets with Multibit, one for small change, one for spending money, one for long term savings.  Feels like a letdown every time I open Litecoin-qt or Namecoin-qt and only have the one, single wallet on screen.  I'd happily uninstall all the other clients if there was a Multibit equivalent for the other altcoins I use.
