Are any charities or non-profit organizations accepting Bitcoin or other altcurrencies?

It seems like the technology would be a huge leap forward for charities and NPOs because of the transparency involved, especially with regard to blockchain. Of course, donors would need to be savvy with the technology.

So, let's start listing them here. Which charities and NPOs are accepting bitcoin or altcurrencies?

I know of one that accepts bit coin   http://www.seansoutpost.com/

Once upon a time i used a faucet that had two options for payment of satoshis, microwallet or Seans Outpost, this website helps the homeless.

Homeless outreach, dedicated to finding lasting solutions to hunger, homelessness, and poverty.

And its gone.

Well you know wikipedia, right ?
That site which has information and date about each and everything but you're not allowed to include it in any authentic researches ?

Yeah they're a non-profit organization and they're the only ones I've across that accepts donations using bitcoins.
The wikimedia foundations (which owns wikipedia) accepts btc through coinbase.

There are loads of charities accepting Bitcoin as a method of donation.
If you do a google search for "bitcoin" + "charity" then you'll get a lot of results including individual charities accepting BTC as well as directories/sites listing charities that do.

There are a lot of them true, but some could turn out to be scam sites who knows people might end up donating money to scammers if they weren't informed which ones are legit.

10btc is a huge amount to donate. I doubt anyone would donate such amount with the current price of btc now.

This would be your best answer OP. The guy that is managing this site has been around the bitcoin community for quite a while now and he has helped a lot of people using the bitcoin donations he got.

Though I don't think this will solve problems with the problems with charitable institutions. There will still be corruption in it.
