I thought I withdrew Ethereum Classic from bittrex to my jaxx wallet since I didn't feel comfortable holding my coins on third party wallets. The icons on jaxx are a bit confussing if you are not being too careful since they are top centered and its not easy to navigate.

I was surprised that the transaction was taking longer than the usual. Only to find out that the coins were sent to Iconomi address. I know that bittrex won't refund me and I have tried searching the txid on etherscan but its untraceable.

Is there a way to reverse this transaction back to my bittrex wallet or I should just consider them as lost? Sad

There's no way to recover it.

there is no way to "reverse" the transactions here, when you send something it is gone. you have to make sure you are sending to the correct address. and bittrex has enough warnings about it everywhere.

i am not familiar with the technicality of this but if Iconomi and Ethereum use the same method of deriving keys you are in luck. you just get the Iconomi private key (possibly even convert it back to its original form) and then import it in your ETC wallet and have access to the coins.

It's sad to lose all your investment just like that, imagine the pain I am going through, but it is okay, I guess I will recover it in some means. Hopefully I will be more careful next time.

I know that bittrex will not reverse it, the thing is that they are both built on Ethereum blockchain, don't you think that there is probably a website or maybe an application that might help in reversing some how?

I have already tried it on etherscan and ethplorer, they said I should try again later. Probably it might after some days reverse itself.

All I can say about it is that treat this problem easier. Think not that you lost your coins. Think about that for these coins you bought experience. Perhaps in the future with this loss you will be more careful and keep more coins than lost.

I think it is gone forever if you did it wrong! because you can't trace which people of that address you wrongly sent.
When it is happen just consider it as a donation or just give-up and learn from mistake, just double check first transaction before sending it.

I try to do that but its not as easier as it seems. Its not a good thing to lose all your investment at once. In these sense, it means that I am going backwards, I am not making any progress in all the investments made. However, I know that its all my mistake.

I will try harder to pretend as if I didn't loose my coins whereas I know very well that I did and I will be more careful in the future. Hopefully this was the first and last.

I am just having hope that it will probably reverse itself since both coins are using the same blockchain. I am just giving it a period of one week and if it doesn't reverse then I will consider it as gone forever or unintended donation.

However, I have learnt from my mistakes, next time I will ensure that I double check before actually making any transaction. I keep consoling myself that I got confused since I was sending different coins to the same wallet.
