They're pretty easy and cheap to make. Here's a guide from Overclock.net.

that is interesting...  I tried doing that, but since it didn't work first time i gave up.  Now that I see someone else has done the exact same thing successfully, I will try again.  thanks for the link.

This is the cheapest and easiest solution, works on all my 6950s

If you can, buy the 1/2 or 1 watt ones with the thicker legs. I bought a pack of 100x 1/4 watts and you have to bend them in two so the wires make proper contact.

It didn't work for me the first time either. For me, it was the fact that I didn't know you had to extend your desktop to the new adapter, once the vga plug is installed.
