thank you for the insightful post . i'm active direct buyer for couple years with adult sites but i see negotiating with sites owners can take long time and big budget . for example one of big bitcoin sites asked 1000 usd because the traffic is huge 1 usd per cpm though i don't want to be adventurous .
on other-hand i think ad networks can provide several options ....many sites to choose from, daily caps , setup campaign depends on budget, targeting and more if non trashy publishers were supplied it can be effective .
i'm surprised that not so much people shared ad-platforms they know of .
