I am very new to Bitcoin Mining.  I've been doing this for only about a week so I left the difficulty of my miners at 1 and haven't gone anywhere near stratum mining.  I have a handful of machines running somewhere between 60-100 Mh/s and I am fairly certain I set everything up correctly.  When i go to the 'My Account' link on bitcoin.cz, I see all my miners listed but there are no statistics in the chart at all.  Found Blocks, Current shares, Score, and Mhash/s are all showing zeroes. I've been using DiabloMiner and every half hour or so it sends an error:

ERROR: Cannot connect to api.bitcoin.cz: Read timed out

but the vast majority of output says:

api.bitcoin.cz accepted block XXXX from <graphics card> (#1)/X

I can't tell if that error message is just a momentary disconnect from the server on that particular block found, or a warning that nothing I've been mining so far has actually be received/collected/acknowledged.  As charitable a person that I may be, i wasn't planning on mining blocks for the fun of it. I would just like some indication that I'm making any semblance of progress.  I am well aware that it's not gonna explode overnight, but from what i can tell, I'm just wasting my time.  The reason I waited a week to query this is because I thought it might just take time to spin up.

Is this a normal process for people who have only been doing this for a week or so?  Or is there something amiss?

ALSO if this is a question i should be posting on a forum about DiabloMiner, let me know.  I posted it here because I thought it may be a miscommunication between my client and the pool.

sorry for the long post

Yeah with that speed, you're not going to make much profit because of the mathematical difficulty level to make a new bitcoin. BUT, if you want to learn more about the bitcoin mining process, what you are doing is the way to do it. Although I would recommend looking into something like ASICMiner Block Erupter USB's to get your feet wet with.

I would say since you are getting an "accepted block" from the miner, your config should be working.  Log in to bitcoin.cz and under accounts you should be getting some stats under the workers section. I would also recommend switching to Stratum mining at your current hardware capabilities. That should keep you from working on stale blocks. (you don't get credit for stale blocks)

Good luck!!

having reread over my original post, my wall of text may have buried the question i wanted answered most. When I go to this specific part of the website I see no feed back or any kind of metrics.  It's all just 0's.

Has anyone experienced this issu before or know what may have caused it to occur?

This statement is under the workers stats.

* The calculation is based on the number of shares so far, which may not be accurate for slow workers.

But I would think you would at least see some values.

Found this on the mining.bitcoin.cz website.

Getwork protocol support ended. Please be sure your miners support Stratum protocol. You can still use your old getwork miners with Stratum proxy installed on your mining rig.

Yeah, you should connect to stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 instead of http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332. But with DiabloMiner you will need a Stratum proxy https://github.com/slush0/stratum-mining-proxy. Or just use cgminer https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer.
