Paypal is integrated so heavily in eBay it will always have a user base. Too many merchants already accepting it as well. Google Checkout has been out a long time and Paypal is still around.

This, however will be interesting to see what google can come out with

I don't really like PayPal, but they are so huge that it would be hard to really compete with them. I hope Google can compete with them soon. Fuck PayPal.

I get a very tiny percentage of orders with google wallet compared to paypal on my website.  People really like the paypal or cc option.

Google Wallet needs to implement enticing features and greater exposure. PP has manifested and rooted itself in many businesses whereas GW is only available in a fraction of them. Can't be taking market share if you're not in most of the market.

Once bitcoin catches on, paypal is done. And so is google wallet.... seems like google wallet is a little late to the game. If it got here before bitcoin started gaining popularity than maybe. As far as I'm concerned, they are too late.

Not really. The problem is that consumers want some protection and Google and PayPal can do that.
