Bitcoin and Waves would be great for short term investment or trading. But you got to be very attentive to these coins because sometimes they do drop very low and there are times it will stay steady around a certain price range but both of these are worth to invest both as short and long term too.

Depends on how much risk.   Verge is coming out with some things -  might pump more. 

Nav coin is really low right now,  I could see it coming back up soon.       Ripple will likely keep pumping into the big Swell conference.

I am planning to invest $3000 on 2 coins as a short term investment. Which one do you guys suggest?

If you are planning short term investment the best coins to invest and have good return in future is lisk ,ripple and ethereum. In coins market  $3000 is a huge amount of money and you should not just put your investment in one coin but split it into several coins so that if any of them give you *10 you will be in profits.

Short term i would invest in DeepOnion. It is just a matter of time before it is added to a larger exchange and that will most likely lead to a new pump.

If you want to invest $3000 in alt coins I really hope you own bitcoin. If not, just buy bitcoin and HODL.
