There are many other things you need to know even before you get into any ICO. Most ICOs are scam. Almost 99%. There are those 1% which are sometimes very hard to identify and sometimes not discovered at all unless the project have smart marketing techniques.
Always do your due diligence before investing. Read the ICO and try to digest what it wants to tell you. Does the project makes any sense or does it not. Study the project, study the market and people behind it. How good are their communication and how are they dealing with issues. Sometimes just be an observer and start to observe all this small small things. Sometimes you do find those SO GOOD TO BE TRUE. For projects like that, take a step back. but then observe and try to study. There are plenty to learn about greed of men in here and the mistakes they commit and those that they oversee.
